    Does a Bad Economy Mean You Don’t Have a Prayer for College?

    The Los Angeles Times reports a potential setback for California college-bound students - the elimination of the 50+ year old Cal Grant program. If the grant program is eliminated it will make it more difficult for low income students to attend a four year university in the state of California. But it will also put additional strain on existing grant programs.

    What’s a student to do? MSN Money lists some creative ways to cut costs and find money for college. (Yes, they are all legal.)

    Don’t be afraid to turn to your Church family for help. About.com lists Top 6 Places Christian Teens Can Find Money for College. If you are an active member of a church you may be eligible for a church related scholarship. Also check the college of you choice to see what’s on their list of church related scholarships.

    Finally, don’t forget to pray about your decision. Just because things may not work out the way you’d like doesn’t mean that they won’t work out for the best.
